  1. Stram let the Team get too old .1971 was their last shot with these players. The Organization should have started rebuilding during this year.Dawsons days were behind him in 1972.Jim Tyer,Mo Morman,Ed Budde, and Hill were the oldest Offensive line in the league. The only players that had gas left in their tank was Lanier and Thomas and Bobby Bell. All who played well and still made All-Pro a few years after this. They could have built around these three. The Losses to San Diego, Philly, the Bengals really hurt.Miami dominated them..as they were never in the game. The score was not as close as it looked….They scored just before the end of the game.A season I would like to forget!

  2. i a 49 year chief fan…this video is bullshit…in 72 they were no factor…no factor at all..game one, this arrogant announcer made it sound like the game vs miami was close…bullshit, they were completely and utterly dominated by the dolphins, totally…this announcer, facenda, must have been be paid by each team, individually, to put a 'spin' on each teams' highlights… again, have followed the chiefs since 1968, k,? the1972 team was mediocrity at it's most mundane, no matter how much this overbearing narrator, this facenda, mr. overbearing, tries to 'spin' it….

  3. Thank you Fran. You are awesome. What happened? They lose to Miami on Christmas Day 1971, they were a powerhouse in the AFC going into 1972, they were favorites to make the SB that year. It was a bitter disappointment. Why didn't the Chiefs ever come back to prominence after 1971? Looks like the talent was definitely there. Maybe someone can clarify this for me because I didn't live in that era.
